Valma A. Eisma, 80, of Goshen, entered into rest on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at home in Goshen. Born December 1, 1935 in Maybrook, NY, the daughter of Oscar and Florence (Roach) Miller. Val was well known in the Village of Goshen. She wore many hats, serving the community for many years most notably as the Town Clerk for the Town of Goshen. She was a kind and gentle woman and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children, Jeanette Russ and husband Arthur of Indianapolis, Laurel Eisma of Goshen, and Peter (P.J.) Eisma and wife Susan of Chestnut Ridge; grandchildren, Adam and wife Jessica Russ, Evan Russ, Ronan Eisma and beloved Finnegan Eisma; brothers and sisters, Oscar (Sonny) Miller of Newton, NJ, Florence Kilb of Washingtonville, Marilyn Behnke of Goshen, Arthur Miller of Lake Placid, FL, Richard Miller and wife Ellen of Campbell Hall, Glenn Miller and wife Nancy of Warwick, and Kathleen Barnes of Goshen; brother-in-law, Paul Stevens of Rumford, ME; and many, many nieces and nephews. Val was predeceased by her parents, and sisters, Doris Greenhill, Evaline Kostek and Sandy Stevens. A private family graveside service will be held at Slate Hill Cemetery, Goshen, NY. Followed by a Celebration of Life. Val was much loved by the Goshen community if anyone would like to visit her at Slate Hill Cemetery, may do so after Thursday, May 26. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St, Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or the American Cancer Society, 121 Executive Drive, New Windsor, NY 12553.
