Elsie S. Malanowski of Goshen, New York, passed away July 12th in Frederick Maryland with her daughter Joan and son in law James by her side at the age of 77 after a short battle with brain cancer. Born in New York City on March 2, 1939, a daughter of the late Anna and Frank Sokosits. She was married to the late Anthony Malanowski. She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Carter and her husband Michael of Goshen, and Joan and her husband James of Maryland. She is also survived by her two beloved cats Gisi and Corky and a feral cat colony she cared for. She was also blessed to have loving nieces,nephews, neighbors, friends, and family who gave her a lifetime of love and happiness. She retired as a nurses aide at the Orange County Home and Infirmary and was an active member of St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Georgetown Hospital, especially Dr Christopher Kalhorn, and the staff of the Frederick Maryland Hospice for their professional and companionate care. A funeral is scheduled for Monday, July 25th at 10am at St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church 71 Murray Avenue, Goshen, NY 10924. Internment will be at 3:30 pm at St John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any animal rescue charity of your choice. Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., Goshen.
