Obituary of John Nutley

John Joseph Nutley, 70, of Goshen, entered into rest on Friday, November 4, 2016 at Elant in Goshen, NY surrounded by his family. John was born March 19, 1946 in Warwick, NY, the son of John E. Nutley and Lilian A. (Allen) Nutley. He is a 1964 graduate of Goshen High School. John served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1970 and received an honorable discharge. He worked 45 years in the automotive sales business, getting his start at Goshen Buick. He was a faithful community volunteer, serving as past president of Goshen Rotary and Goshen Jaycees. He was a longtime member of Al Turi Golf League. A family statement: "John, true to his Irish roots, lived life to the fullest, quick with a joke or a kind remark, and always told it to you as it was. Among things he did to the fullest was share his love for his very large family. It took a man with a huge heart to love so many and this is what we will always remember about John. He will be deeply missed." John is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Mary Ellen Nutley at home; his children, Patrick Nutley and his wife Kate of Dobbs Ferry and Jessica Fusco and her husband Mark of Seymour, CT; two grandchildren, Andrew and Allison Fusco; sisters, Alice McCrann of Goshen, Mary Devitt of Montgomery, Anita Jones of Grahamsville, Margaret Mooney of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Jeanne Kline and his brother Richard Nutley. Visitation will be Monday, November 7 from 4 to 7 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
