Charles Eckerson, Sr., 79, of Goshen, died Friday, December 16, 2016 at Westchester Medical Center, Mt. Pleasant, NY. Charles was born November 24, 1937 in Goshen, NY, to the late Henry A. Eckerson Sr. and the late Glady's (Lynch) Eckerson. He served in the US Navy from 1957 to 1961. He retired from Chester Hide And Skin, Chester, NY. Charles was a wonderful husband, loving father and devoted grandfather. He was a strong, kind man with a heart of gold and will be sorely missed. He is survived by his heart broken wife of 50 years, Patricia V. Eckerson at home; son, Charles Eckerson, Jr. of Goshen; daughters, Tracy Eckerson and Leslie Eckerson and husband Todd all of Goshen; brother, Fred Eckerson and wife Kathy; sisters, Hilda Williams and Sandra Eckerson; 5 grandchildren, Patty, Krissy, Ava, Matthew and Jacklyn; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Henry, Clarence "Bucky" and Don; and his sister, Margaret Miller. Visitation will be Monday, December 12 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY, with the Funeral Service at 6:30 pm.
