Nancy Ellen Demmer Tarvin passed away on August 13, 2017, in Naples, Florida. She was 58 years old. Nancy is survived by her husband Jim Tarvin of Bonita Springs, FL. She is also survived by her parents William and Marie Demmer of Naples, FL, her sister and brother-in-law Karen and Scott Viscariello of Concord, MA, her sister and brother-in-law Laurie Demmer and Rob Slade of Cornelius, NC, and her brother and sister-in-law Dan and Helene Demmer of Bolton, MA. Also surviving are Jim's parents, Jim and Liz Tarvin of Goshen NY, and his brother and sisters, their spouses, and twenty nieces and nephews. Nancy was born on January 11, 1959 in Poughkeepsie, NY. She graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School in 1977, Colgate University in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology, and University of Maryland with a master's degree in School Psychology. Nancy and Jim met and fell in love at Colgate University and have been inseparable ever since. During a 35 year marriage characterized by remarkable love and teamwork they lived in Maryland, Texas, and Florida. In her role as an educational leader in the Leander School District for 25 years, Nancy was a gifted problem solver and knew just how to heal a broken spirit. Her brilliant mind was present in everything she touched. She knew exactly how to inspire, educate, and bring people together. Her legacy will continue in the many educators and students she impacted. Additionally, Nancy was an adored daughter, sister, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, aunt, Godmother, niece, cousin, and great friend to many. Nancy was also a feline whisperer throughout the years. She loved her cats and they loved her. The times she spent with a "lap full of cats" were some of her happiest moments. Despite numerous serious health problems along the way, Nancy lived a life of grace, humility, passion, and great kindness. She had an unwavering positive outlook on life, with a persistent cheerful attitude and a sweet loving disposition. As a kidney transplant recipient of more than 30 years, Nancy gave life her all and earned the love and respect of everyone in her world.
