Arthur H. Galipeau, 94, of Goshen, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at home. Arthur was born January 27, 1924 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, the son of Hermas and Blanche Eva (Brodeur) Galipeau. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Art graduated from the University of Rhode Island where he played baseball. He retired from a long career with NJ Bell and ATT as Executive Director. Before Goshen, Art resided in Boynton Beach, Florida. There he was an avid golfer and loved when his family and especially his beloved grandchildren came to visit. He is survived by his wife, Theresa (Levesque) Galipeau of Goshen; children, Steven A. Galipeau and wife Linda of West Hills, CA, David W. Galipeau and wife Patricia of Brookings, SD, Kenneth J. Galipeau and wife Judy of Mt. Tabor, NJ, and Julie Lees and husband William of Goshen, NY; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Florence Soucy, Blanche Galipeau and Olive Reinsant; and Stepmother Rose St. Germaine Galipeau. The family, especially Julie, would like to thank the many people who have helped care for their father over the years, Diane and Mike from Glen Arden, the private caretakers: Tracey, Wavnie, Ann, Natalie, Amber and Norma; all of whom he was very fond of and most importantly, the beloved Tanya, who helped Art age with grace and dignity. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St Columba R. C. Church, 27 High St, Chester, NY. Burial will be held privately for the family at a later date in Pawtucket, RI. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Telecom Pioneers at pioneersvolunteer.org - Art' s beloved organization which he headed up at the end of his career or Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc East Team.
