Maryann Gillespie, 80, of Middletown, died Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Highland Nursing Home, Middletown, NY. Maryann was born January 5, 1936 in Bronx, NY, the daughter of Thomas F. and Florence (Gieck) Bayard. She as the widow of Bruce "Doc" Gillespie who predeceased her on April 29 2016 he was the love of her life. They were married for 63 years. Maryann retired from the Washingtonville Central School District, Washingtonville, NY as a Dispatcher. She was a long time resident of the area who loved spending time in Florida in the winter months. Maryann returned recently to live with her daughter after her husband's passing .carol recalls the past 3 1/2 months as being the best times together that they have spent and can only hope that mom and dad are together again dancing the night away like they used to do. She is survived by her sons, Randy Gillespie and wife Robin of Canaan, NY and Robert Smith-Gillespie and wife Barbara of Eugene, OR; her daughter, Carol M. Gillespie of Middletown, NY; five grandchildren, Jason, Rebecca, Jesse, Ethan and Aubre; several great grandchildren; brother, Frank Ryan and wife Sally of Blair, NE; sister Patricia Brower of the Villages, FL; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside Services and burial will be in Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen on Saturday, August 13 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an animal shelter of your choice. Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., Goshen, NY.
