Obituary of Bruce T. Cullen

Bruce T. Cullen, 86, of Murrells Inlet, SC, died, Thursday, September 15, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Bruce was born January 4, 1930 in Nyack, NY, the son of John and Dorothy (Terpening) Cullen. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He earned a Bachelor and Master's Degree from SUNY New Paltz and was a retired Teacher from the Goshen Central School District. He was a member of the Goshen United Methodist Church; a charter member of the Goshen Volunteer Ambulance Corps.; board member of the Goshen Central Schools; member of the NYS Teachers Association; worked for the NYS Park System and a past member of the Minisink Hook and Ladder Fire Co, Goshen, NY. Bruce is survived by his wife of 60 years Virginia S. Cullen at home; son, Gary Cullen (Ronnie) of Milford, PA; daughters, Linda Budniewksi (Tom) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Deborah O'Brien (Steve) of Murrells Inlet, SC and Karen Flanagan (Keith) of Burlingham, NY; 6 grandchildren, Michelle, Patrick Budniewski, Christopher O'Brien, Kyle O'Brien, Stephanie O'Brien, and Christen Oden; 1 great-granddaughter Emerson; 6 nieces and 1 nephew. He was predeceased by his infant son, Roy Cullen and his granddaughter Meghan O'Brien. A memorial visitation will be Friday, September 23rd from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. The Memorial Service will be Saturday, September 24th at 11am at the Goshen United Methodist Church, Goshen, NY. Burial with military honors will be in the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
