Ann J. Horner, 77, of Lloyd Harbor, died Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Hospice House, Huntington, NY. Ann was born December 18, 1940 in Nyack, NY, the daughter of Lewis and Hazel (Ackerman) Petrak. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Frank Horner on June 12,1993. Ann grew up in Piermont, NY. She was a SUNY Oswego College graduate, earning a Bachelor's in Elementary Education in 1962. After college, Ann and Joe married and moved to Monroe, NY where they raised 3 children. Ann retired from Monroe- Woodbury in 1997, as a teacher at North Main Street Elementary School in Monroe, NY. Left to honor her love are her partner, Paul Fowler; son, Joseph Horner and his wife Laura, daughter, Kristie Horner Kapusta and her husband Peter, and daughter, Kate Horner Loftus and her husband Tom. Ann had seven grandchildren Joseph, Michael, Timothy, Kiera, Brian, Emily and Henry. Ann will be remembered for the sparkle in her eyes, hearty laugh, zest for life, and dedication to her family as well as to her students. She loved music, her flower garden, the beach, travel, and spending time with family. Visitation will be Sunday, March 18 from 2 to 5 P.M. at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am on Monday, March 19, 2018 at St. James Episcopal Church, 1 St. James Pl., Goshen, NY with Fr. Carl Lunden officiating.
