Loretta Leona McCarthy, 85, of Goshen, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Valley View Center in Goshen, NY. Loretta was born May 27, 1935 in Ulster Park, NY, the daughter of Grover Stewart and Margaret (Bechtold) Hoffay. Loretta's early years were formed by the Sisters of St. Ursula, she was very active in the Catholic Church, she had a deep faith and a passion of the Arts. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Loretta cherished her time with her son, J.T. She retired in 1997 as a teacher from the Goshen Central School District, Goshen, NY. She is survived by her husband Albert Stipak at home; and her son, Joseph T. McCarthy. Loretta was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph J. McCarthy and her sister, Margaret Hoffay Branigan. Visitation will be Friday, January 15 from 4 to 6 pm at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30 am on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Loretta's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
