Florence C. Meres passed peacefully at home on January 15, 2021under the loving care of her sons Tom and more recently Bob. Florence lived 100 years, 7 months, and 18 days. She was predeceased by twoof her children, Billy and Eddie and her husband Richard. Florence was married for 47 years before her husband's death in 1989. She was born in Corona, NY on May 26, 1920 to Wallace and Anna Davidson. Florence is the last remaining of her four siblings, Mary, Helen, Nancy, and Jack. Florence lived in Airmont and Goshen NY before moving to Florida in 1982. A devout catholic, she lived her faith guiding and helping others. For many years she visited Orange Farms, reciting the rosary with the residents and on holidays enlisting her children in singing and distributing gifts. Florence was a life member of the Catholic Daughters and with the Catholic Daughters, marched on Washington D.C. supporting Right to Life. Florence was always ready to lend a hand and share joy with neighbors. On May Day, Florence, accompanied by her children and grandchildren, would place home grown flowers at her neighbor's doors. Florence enjoyed her flower gardens, fishing with her husband and playing jovial card games with family and friends. She especially enjoyed visiting with family and searching for treasures. Her faith, love, and kindness live on in her children, Richard, James, Wallace, Thomas, Ann, Robert, Patrick, Nancy, their spouses, 26 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral mass was held at Prince of Peace Church in Ormond Beach. Florence was laid to rest next to her husband and children in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen, New York. .
