BARBARA A. SANTANGELO
June 29, 1941 - December 19, 2009
Barbara A. Santangelo, 68, of Montgomery, NY died Saturday, December 19, 2009 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Barbara was born June 29, 1941 in Queens, NY, the daughter of the late Thomas P. Lamb and Ann (O'Shea) Lamb. She was employed as the Chief Information Systems Officer at the Middletown State Hospital. Prior to that, she was employed as a Program Analyst and Quantitative Analyst and Statistician for the NYC Department of Mental Health and Retardation.
She was married to Martin L. Zeitchick on March 25, 1995 after a 12 year loving partnership. Together they built a beautiful home and retirement, which included involvement in the K-9 Bandaiders with their dogs Bonnie and Clyde, the Metropolitan Maltese Rescue of the NY metro area. They fostered 3 dogs and from this, adopted their Maltese-Bichon Friese mix, Ollie.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, Martin at home; her loving son, Carlo and wife Kirsten of Goshen, beloved son, Christopher and wife Jennifer of Montgomery; cherished grandchildren, Landon and Chloe of Montgomery; beloved sister, Patricia Croissant and husband Bill of Mongaup Valley, NY; loving niece, Patty Ann Croissant of Mongaup Valley, NY; nephews Billy Croissant, Michael Croissant, both of Mongaup Valley, NY; and her beloved dog, Ollie. She was predeceased by her parents and loving sister, Carol Lamb.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church St., Goshen.
Graveside Services and Burial will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Hamptonburgh Cemetery, Hamptonburgh, NY.
