Harold Allen Chaffee, of Campbell Hall NY, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021 after living 84 full years of life. Harold was born January 1, 1937 in Maybrook, NY, the son of Harold Allen and Laura (Shipman) Chaffee. He grew up with an extensive network of brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Mary (Nelson); his children, Virginia Levenback and her husband Charles of Houston; his son Charlie and wife Kelly (Durnin) Chaffee of Goshen; and his daughter Julie Chaffee of Keansburg, New Jersey. Harold taught his children mostly through example that anything in life is possible through hard work and determination. He and his wife, cofounded Chaffee Swimming Pools in 1967 out of their home and family station wagon. They loved and nurtured the company that is now operated by Charlie and Kelly Chaffee in Goshen NY. Harold was an avid reader, passionate fisherman, runner and outdoorsman. The family extends a special thank you to The Kaplan Family Hospice Residence. Donations can be made in Harold Chaffee's name at the Hospice of Orange/Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY, 12550 https://hospiceoforange.com. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 14th from 4-7 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. Burial will be private at a later date.
