JAMES JOSEPH ZIELINSKI
GOSHEN, NEW YORK
James Joseph Zielinski, 82, of Goshen, NY passed away Monday, January 11, 2010 at Orange Regional Medical Center-Arden Hill Campus in Goshen, NY.
Jim was born September 7, 1927 in Goshen, NY, the son of the late Bruno and the late Caroline (Plock) Zielinski. He was the husband of Margaret Berrian Zielinski.
Jim was very proud of his service in the Merchant Marines aboard the George Rogers Clark and the U.S. Army in Korea with the 3rd Signal Co., 3rd Infantry Division during his military career he earned 3 Bronze Battle Stars.
Jim retired from the Operating Engineers Local 825. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church of Goshen, NY.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret (Peg) Zielinski ;children, James P. Zielinski of Hawthorne, CA; and Mary Phelan and husband Doug of Goshen, NY; sister, Virginia Weeden of Goshen; brothers Bruno Zielinski and wife Dorothy of Fort Myers, FL and Joseph Zielinski and wife Frances of Akin, SC grandchildren, Daniel P. Phelan of Hollywood, CA, Brent Phelan and Brittany Phelan both of Goshen; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, and sister, Lillian Heinzelman.
Visitation will be Friday, January 15, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church St., Goshen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 16, at 10:30 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 73 Murray Avenue, Goshen.
Burial will follow in Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
