A wonderful man, neighbor, and mentor to my children. Both Kevin and Amanda loved Bruce, Mr. Crandall to them. We lived next door, and had a pond in our back yard. Bruce would get as excited about what they would find in the pond as they did. The best was when each morning, he would announce how many of our bullfrogs felt his pool was better than our pond. It was wonderful. Bruce, I can hear your voice as you would complement Kevin on his fly fishing skills, or praise Amanda as she would practice singing her opera song of the week. You will be missed. We may have moved away from Goshen, but you always will have a place in our hearts.

Dear Friends<
Our hearts are broken learning of the passing of Bruce. We met him years ago as he officiated track meets at the school and when he joined the church it was like and old friend came to worship with us. I remember telling him he belonged in the choir with his beautiful voice and his talent and soon he was up there singing and playing the trumpet. He was a true gentleman, always stopped to say hello, ask how the kids were and when Dave got so sick he gave me a hug and told me he was praying for a recovery. He was one of the kindest people i knew. Please know that we will miss his smile and his lively step and his wonderful kind words. God bless each of you at this very difficult time. With our Love, Wendy and Dave Paffenroth

Bruce and I were classmates at Earlville Central School from Kindergarten through graduation in 1960. He was a really nice boy who grew into an even nicer man. His accomplishments were many and amazing, from his love of music, history, teaching and coaching, to his family, as shown by the love that has been expressed by so many in the past few days. I last saw him at a class reunion in 2015; his classmates were always excited when Bruce was able to attend a reunion.
Bruce came to my house one day after school when we were about seven or eight, and we had a water drinking contest. Using some “trendy” aluminum glasses, we stood at the kitchen sink, drinking and drinking. I’m afraid it was a long walk home for him!
Bruce was always friendly, genuine, and well-liked. He will be missed by many, and the world is now much diminished by his absence. Thank you, Bruce, for being you.
