I worked with David at BC. He always would talk about his family and how raising kids goes so fast. I would tell him about my growing family and he enjoyed recalling memories of raising his sons.
I heard about his work with an accessible turf field and beautiful people charity, he was always out to do good whether it was at work or at home. I am glad I got to know him. Prayers for peace and comfort while you grieve the loss of him.
David as a NY Giants fan and I as a NY Jets fan would always have some good banter with each other. This great man will be missed.

Dave was one of the first to welcome me to Malcolm Pirnie, back in 1986 and thankfully, remained a good friend. About two months ago, he called me, unexpectedly, so we could ‘catch up.’ As always, everything about him was kind and welcoming – as it was in 1986. Even on the phone, his voice enveloped you like a warm hug. We quickly picked up in our lives where time left us last. We laughed, reminisced, and reflected on a friendship that took us to adulthood and maturity.
David was deeply devoted to his mom and his ability to care for her through her life changes. He was so incredibly proud of the wonderful men his boys had become. He spoke with deep love of his blessing to have Mary by his side as retirement became more in focus.
Work continued to be a part of his life, but that was a part of David – sharing his passion and talent in his architectural work through his various projects – a gift that provided to so many people over the years.
I was thrilled to have had that time to share with my friend. I now know that conversation, which ended with our ‘talk soon’s and ‘love you’s would be our farewell. Because of that phone call, I am at peace to know that Dave’s life was filled with family, friends, and passion for everything he loved.
David’s loss is deep to all who knew him – his kindness, his smile – always friendly and welcoming. I am blessed with the memories that I have and hope that in time, others will share in those blessings.
My deepest condolences and prayers for peace and comfort are offered to Mrs. Crawford and family, to Dave’s boys – Andrew, Grant, and Taylor, and to his beloved Mary. Thank you for being the foundation of his life. And to all who had the privilege of his friendship, this is just ‘until we meet again.’ Rest well, dear David.
With Deep Sympathy,
Lisa Macaluso

Very saddened and shocked to hear of Daves passing. My husband & I met Dave when he helped at Goshen Humane Society years ago, and I had the chance to talk to him a couple years ago. I think of him as a “gentle soul.” Will definitely be missed. Susan & Rick Bossley

I was working with David on a project in Nashville and was so incredibly saddened to hear of his passing. I don't believe I have ever worked with a nicer person. He was just always so happy and full of great ideas. My first thoughts were I wish I had the opportunity to tell him what a joy he was to work with. I want his family to know how highly he was regarded by his colleagues. He will be missed.

David was part of my childhood growing up on Marietta in Pomona. He was one of the older guys in the neighborhood who I admired and looked up to , for he was an all county High School Football player who also excelled in the classroom . Many great memories playing and swimming in the backyard of the Crawfords house . My condolences to Paula, Kevin, Martin and family. Rip Big Dave you will be missed by many and thanks for setting an example of hard work and compassion in life.

My wife and I worked with David at Malcolm Pirnie in the early 2000's. He was a gifted architect, but more importantly a truly wonderful person who treated everyone with kindness and respect. Without a doubt, he was one of the nicest people we've ever known and a class act in every way. We extend our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones, and wish you all peace and strength in this time of sadness.
