Obituary of Dorothy Marie Loyas

Dorothy M. Loyas of Goshen, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 12 2023, at the Valley View Center for Nursing Care in Goshen, NY.  She was 93.

She was born to Mary and John Jacobchick on June 26, 1930, in DuPont, PA.  A graduate of Moosic High School, she also attended Wilkes College in Wilkes Barre, PA.  Dorothy worked for many years at the Orange County Board of Elections, in Goshen, and retired from there as a deputy commissioner.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Lynn M. Coppers (James), of Goshen,

Walter J. Loyas, Jr., of Middletown, and Robert Loyas (Cheryl), of Effingham, NH;

her grandchildren Amy Coppers Costantino (Cory) and Zachary Loyas; her great-grandchildren Guy and May Coppers Costantino, and Zoe, Jacob, Lily and Frederick Loyas; by several nieces and nephews, and by cherished friends from the Norris and Coppers families.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter J. Loyas, Sr., and by her grandson, James M. Coppers.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen, NY.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 11:30 AM at St. John’s Cemetery, Goshen NY.
