


Obituary of Douglas J. Ossentjuk

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas John Ossentjuk, age 83, of Bullville, New York, on February 7, 2025. He was born in Hamptonburgh, New York, on February 3, 1942, to the late John and Libbie Ossentjuk.
Douglas is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Lilli E. Zloch Ossentjuk; his children, Eric married to Jennie, Kim Ossentjuk-Dolson, Fay married to John Eberling, and Kelly married to Steven Sienkwicz; his sister, Diane Marie Zloch of Bloomingburg, NY; as well as his cherished grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
His grandchildren include Jessica Correa and Brian Linker, Erinn and Max Ossentjuk, Nicholas, Olivia, J.T., and Natalie Dolson, Scott Ledina, John Eberling and Ivy Westbrook, Eva and Gracie Sienkwicz. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, extended family and close friends.
He graduated from Goshen High School, where he was a talented southpaw pitcher and met the love of his life, Lilli. They were married for 62 beautiful years, sharing a lifetime of memories together.
Douglas proudly served in the United States Navy, stationed on the USS Sampson during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
For 42 years, Douglas worked as a truck driver with L.P. Transportation, earning the respect of his colleagues and becoming known for his dedication and hard work.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his deep love for his family, and his lifelong passion for cats, Coca-Cola, and humor. A private service will be held with the family.
Douglas will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved.
