Obituary of Oresta T. Hamersky

Oresta Hamersky, age 81, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, passed away peacefully on 2/23/25 after a long battle from cancer surgery complications. She was blessed to be surrounded by her loved ones.

Oresta was born on 3/17/1943 in Ukraine. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was known for her kind heart, warm smile, sense of humor, generosity and showed sincere love and interest in everyone she met. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was an active member of the Ukrainian National Women's League of America in Miami, FL.

She is survived by daughters Roma Hamersky-Dale and husband Anthony Dale; Alexandra Hamersky; and grandchildren Alexander and Adriana Dale. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Bohdan Hamersky, parents Olha and Volodymyr Pelensky and sister Nina Pelensky.

A funeral will be held on March 8, 2025 starting with a viewing at 11:00 am and service and liturgy to follow at 12:00 pm at St Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church and Cemetery in Campbell Hall, NY to celebrate her life and legacy.

A memorial service will be held at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in Miami on Sunday March 23, 2025, at 10:30.
