It's always difficult to put a lifetime of shared memories into a single message. Despite her natural quiet demeanor, Aunt Jean cared so deeply for her family. She was always willing to let my siblings and I tear apart the living room with our lincoln logs and legos. Or walk us to the back of her house where we would rollerblade and play handball for hours. Every visit would finish the same way.. too much food, a game of schtoop, and THE malverne bakery.
Aunt Jean was so loving, so kind, and so thoughtful. She deeply cared about the newest updates in our lives, and truly just wanted to listen.
I will always remember you Aunt Jean for the genuinely loving, caring person that you are. Although we won't be able to share new memories, I will always hold close the great times that we shared together.

It is very hard to put into words what Jean ment to me. She was a kind, caring sister. Jean played a huge role in my younger years. She was always available while I navigated growing up without a mother. When I became a mother, Jean showered my children with love, attention and gifts. Jean helped me through some tough times, but was always there during to good time too, especially if there was a dessert involved. Jean was loved by many and will be so missed. Rest in peace Jean. I love you❤️

Some of the happiest memories of my childhood involve times spent with Jean. When my father announced we were going to take a ride to “Kathy ‘n Jean’s” house on Remsen Street, I couldn’t wait to get there. (This was, of course, before Aunt Winnie and Uncle Eddie's family grew to include Edward, Kenny, and Janet.) It was such a joy to be with my cousins! Although the age difference between us was small, you always seemed so grown up to me and it was such a thrill to be in your company. The same is true of our visits to Grandma’s where I would again get to pal around with my grown up Cousin Jean. Through the years you have always been someone to look up to. Rest in peace, my sweet Cousin Jean. You will be missed.

I remember when I was young, my parents went away for the weekend and my Aunt Jean came to stay with me. I thought of her to be kind of serious but she told me how we should eat dessert first and laughter ensued (she wasn’t joking!). She was ready to have a fun filled few days and I loved it. I loved having someone I felt comfortable with, trusted and looked up to but could also make me laugh and have fun.
I knew early that she loved me unconditionally. From the small gifts she always gave me as a child to the cards she sent me and my family as an adult…. She has always showed me that she never forgot and always adored my family. Despite not being able to visit NY often as an adult, my children always knew Aunt Jean from her consistent cards and well wishes.
Aunt Jean is a piece of my childhood and endless memories of birthdays, holidays, vacations (Disney! Vermont!) and more. I will miss her dearly.

From the day I arrived my big sister Jean was part of my life. We quickly became a team. Everything that little girls do growing up, we did together. She was ahead of me sometimes but I caught up.
We played dolls, school, hide and seek. We made mudpies, learned to ride a bike and kept each other company in the dark. When Jean started school, she brought home measles, mumps and chicken pox and we shared those too.
We loved reading books together. We sat together with the Sears Christmas Catalog for hours.
I looked forward to getting her hand-me-down clothes, although it took time before they fit me. I always looked up to her.
Things weren’t perfect because we were two different people.. There were some arguments (I once stabbed her with a pencil.) But I always knew I had a friend.
Birthdays were the day that you were special. Mom baked your favorite cake, lit the candles and the family sang.
Today June 20th is Jean’s birthday. May she be surrounded by all the family and friends that left before her. The light from the candles is bright and the sound of the angels singing is beautiful. Be joyful and peaceful.
Happy Birthday Jean, I miss you

I will always cherish the many happy memories Aunt Jean and I shared. As my godmother, she has always held a very special place in my heart. Her kind and gentle nature, her deep love for animals, and her impeccable taste in desserts are just a few of the many things I loved about her.
Aunt Jean was a remarkable woman—thoughtful, generous, and full of quiet strength. As I look around my home, I see so many beautiful things she’s given me over the years. Each one brings a smile to my face and reminds me of the stories, and moments we shared.
She brought warmth into every room she entered, and her presence will be deeply missed.
