Obituary of Jean Minikel

Jean Minikel 6/20/1943 – 6/7/2025 Jean Minikel, 81, of Goshen entered into rest on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY. She was a longtime resident of Lynbrook, NY. Jean was born June 20, 1943, in Queens, NY, the first child of Edward and Winifred (Byrnes) Minikel. She graduated from SUNY Farmingdale and pursued a long career as an Executive Administrative Assistant for several large corporations. She was predeceased by her brother Kenneth Minikel, her brother Edward Minikel and sister-in-law Roseanne Minikel, and her brother-in-law Robert Barbella. Jean is survived by her sisters Kathleen Barbella and Janet Friedman (Howie). She was a beloved and generous aunt to nieces Jennifer Vandeloo, Molly Manaseri (Joseph), Taylor Friedman (Michael Baldino) and nephew Ethan Friedman (Lenore). She enjoyed watching the family grow to include great-nieces and nephews Noah, Emma and Ashley Vandeloo and Vincent, Bennett and Charlie Manaseri. She was a special "Aunt Jean" to Kevin and Scott Shinick. Jean loved her family, books and cats. We miss her already and always will.
