James Scott "Poppy" Scesa, Sr. Middletown, New York James Scott "Poppy" Scesa, Sr., 82, of Middletown entered into rest Monday, February 6, 2012 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY. James was born February 4, 1930 in Goshen, NY, the son of James and Clara (Cook) Scesa. Jim served in the Army during World War II. He was proprietor of Jim's Meat Market, Goshen, NY and retired meat cutter from the U.S Military Academy at West Point. He is survived by his wife, Annette Scesa at home; sons, James Jr. and wife Theresa of Milford, PA and their sons, Bret, James III and Michael, Paul Scesa of Middletown and his children, Victoria, Paul, Jr. and Christopher, John and his wife Michele of hamlet of Wallkill and their son, Trevor; daughter, Cathleen Yorio and husband, Francis of Weedsport, NY and their sons, F. Paul and Joseph; sisters, Betty Smith and Rosamond Medanich both of Seabring, FL; 4 great grandchildren, Ethan, Noah, Cameron and Safina; several nieces and nephews; 2 brothers-in-law, Michael Falina and Frank Cizek and one sister-in-law, Mary McCaw. Visitation will be Thursday, February 9 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, February 10 at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen,, NY. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen. Contributions may be made in Jim's name to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550. Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., Goshen.
