Obituary of Anne T. Mitchell

Anne T. Mitchell Goshen, New York Anne T. Mitchell, 84, of Goshen entered into rest on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY. Anne was born July 7, 1929 in Goshen, NY, the daughter of Stanley and Anna (Felczak) Malanowski. She was the widow of Lawrence A. Mitchell, Sr. Anne was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Church, a Eucharist minister; and an avid baker who enjoyed baking for the bake sales. In her younger years she sold advertising for the Independent Republican in Goshen. She retired as a Paraprofessional at BOCES in Goshen after 33 years, and she truly loved the people she worked with and the children they cared for. She was very involved in the arts and crafts and volunteered a lot of her time fundraising for the various student activities. She is survived by her daughters, Anne Kelley and Priscilla Powell and her husband William; her brother, Joseph Malanowski and wife Shirely; aunt, Lt. Col. Helen Willis; 3 Grandchildren, Jessica, Patrick, McKenzie; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, Sr. and her son, Lawrence Mitchell, Jr. A special thanks to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties and to Meagan, Elena, and Nicole for their help to keep Granny in her home. Visitation will be Monday, August 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 13 at St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, Goshen, NY. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, at a later date.
