It truly doesn't seem like it has been almost a decade. I hope you are doing well, friend.

I hope you won't mind my writing here even though I was never lucky enough to have known Meghan, but reading about her life touched me deeply. She sounds like the kind of daughter that any parent would be proud of, any friend would be honored to have, any teacher would be delighted to teach. I believe she was a ray of sunshine in this world. I fervently hope that everyone in her family finds a way to focus on the wonderful gift she was, instead of the fact that she left this world way too soon. Like shooting stars, sometimes the most beautiful wonders in the universe are here for only a dot in time. Again, please accept my sincerest condolences on your terrible loss.

Our heartfelt condolences to your family during this very difficult time. Although we were not lucky enough to have known Meghan personally, from the beautiful tributes written about her, we feel others were truly blessed to be called her family and friends. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We are in Atlanta and could not be with you at this time. God bless you all.

It was with great disbelief that I heard from my daughter, Maura, of Meghan's passing, a classmate and friend. Our family's hearts go out to you and yours during this difficult time and especially during this holiday season when we usually look for happier moments with loved ones rather than loss. Our community will stand behind you as long as you need us to support you as you continue mourn and to celebrate Meghan's life. She will never be forgotten.

Beautiful, friendly, funny, and vibrant are just a few words with which I would try to begin to describe the great spirit Meghan brought to life.
It is truly our collective loss as a community that Meghan has gone to be with the Lord. It is with faith that we can endure and know Meghan’s purpose was to inspire so many. She accomplished so much and lives on in our acts of kindness, community and achievement.
I hope that her memory serves as a beacon of light for her family and friends. Be excellent!
Know that you are not alone and that prayers are said as far away as Africa for all of you and for Meghan!
Sincerely,
Tim Hughes

My deepest sympathy to the family and many friends of Meghan Sager. I had the privilege of having Meghan in my English 10 Honors class last year, World Literature. This morning I have been re-reading her essays (literary criticism), every one passionately expressed and effectively constructed: the first, on fatal character flaws in Homer’s The Iliad and Hosseini’s A Thousand Splendid Suns; one on Frank McCourt’s Irish memoir Angela’s Ashes; another on a biography of Christian Dior; a research paper on Antigone about just and unjust laws, using MLK,Jr’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail” as a critical lens; one on Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina; and a first-person journal through the voice of Paul Baumer on Remarque’s All Quiet on the Western Front. I am also remembering the outstanding script Meghan wrote for her performance group during their multi-media presentation of a creation myth from around the world. Most of all, I am remembering her friendly, positive presence, day-by-day in Room 109, her thoughtful contributions during class discussions, and her beautiful smile. This year, every time I’d see Meghan in the hallways, she had that smile for me and, now and again, a friendly bit of conversation. She touched so many of us at GHS, and the light she brought to each of us will shine on. We will not forget her.

Our hearts go out to the whole Sager family. although there are no words we can say to make any of this make any sense or hurt any less, please know that we are thinking of you and praying for you all. My heart just breaks for you all....may you find the strength to get through your days and nights during this saddest of times....Meghan will always be with you in the smallest of things....I say Hi to Dan whenever I see a rainbow, or a field of dandelion seeds blowing across my path. I know it may sound silly to some ,but to me it's a heartwarming comfort....I know Meghan will comfort you with hugs from heaven in some form. We are so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Meghan, hold each other tight as you weather this darkness in your life.

My heart is heavy today after hearing of a friends daughters passing, in this most difficult time is when faith in God should not be lost but regained, for knowing God needed another angel, and though there are no words for her loss and we all question why, but "Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love." 1 Corinthians 16:13 and "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. Philippians 4:6 - 7
My heart goes out to The Sager Family

I was always carry the memory of Megan as a kind person and always had nice things to say. She was an amazing athlete and I probably would not have gotten serious about my vaulting if she did not come in and challenge me.
