Obituary of Meghan M. Sager

Meghan M. Sager, 16, of Goshen died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Maria Ferrari Children's Hospital, Valhalla, NY. Meghan was born May 9, 1997 in White Plains, NY, the daughter of Brian K. and Theresa M. (Colgan) Sager. She was a student at Goshen High School. Meghan had a great love for her family and friends. She was thoughtful, kind and inspired many. She brought music, laughter and light to all who were blessed to call her a friend. An exceptional student, Meghan was recently inducted into the National Honor Society and World Language Honor Society. She participated in Odyssey of the Mind, Student Senate, Mock Trial and High School Musicals. Meghan was a proud Girl Scout (Troop 481) Silver Award recipient. As an athlete, she played soccer and track. She was a proud member of the Section IX champion Goshen Girls Soccer Team and Goshen Track team, where her speed and tenacity earned her praise. Meghan loved music. She played the violin and piano beautifully and sang like an angel. She touched us all with her musical talents. She is survived by her parents and brothers, Brian and Michael Sager; maternal grandmother, Marie D. Colgan; paternal grandmother, Terry M. Epstein and husband, Dr. Edward Epstein; paternal grandfather, W. Phillip Sager and companion Jayne Houghton; aunts and uncles, James Colgan and wife Celena, Maryann Alders and husband Thomas, Raymond Colgan and wife Jennifer, Rosemarie Williams and husband Scott, Dr. David Sager and wife Michelle; cousins, Christopher, Ryan, Kevin, Maggie, Kaitlyn, Marycolleen, Timothy, James, Sarah, Jenna, Allison, Patrick, Owen and Dylan. Meghan was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Raymond Colgan. Visitation will be Sunday, December 22 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Monday, December 23 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery, Chester, NY.
