Obituary of Peter A. Deserto

Peter A. Deserto, age 66, of Goshen, NY died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Orange Regional Medical Center-Horton Campus, Middletown, NY. Peter was born April 18, 1941 in Middletown, NY the son of Antonio and Anna (Dina) Deserto. He was married to Janet Currao. He was a wholesaler for Arnold Bakery Products in the Hudson Valley. A member of St John the Evangelist R.C. Church, a 4th Degree Knight, Knights of Columbus #1106 Goshen, an honorary member of the Minisink Fire Department and Fire Police, and member of the Goshen Youth Basketball and Baseball. Family Statement Peter was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was always there to help anyone in need, especially his family and friends. He was an admirable role model who will be sadly missed and always remembered. He is survived by his wife Janet Deserto at home; son Peter and wife Tracy of Southampton, NY; Daughters, Bonnie Heib and husband Chris of Greenville, NY and Penny Dias and husband Frank of Wellington, FL; brothers, Frank and Nancy Deserto of Middletown, Joseph and Jean Deserto of Middletown, and Vito and Joan Deserto of Middletown; sisters, Mary Lancieri of Ventor City, NJ, Ann Henderson of Middletown, and Angela Hovencamp of Dover Fox Croft, ME; brother-in-law, Peter Currao and wife Marilyn of Beaver, PA 6 grandchildren, Christopher and Gianna Heib, Frank, Victoria and Ciara Dias, and Emily Deserto; and several nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by three brothers, Andrew, Anthony and Paul Deserto and his sister, Nancy Cosco. A Memorial Service will be on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Avenue in Goshen. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
