Spero Phillips, 87, of Winter Haven, FL formerly of Campbell Hall, NY died Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Good Shepherd Hospice, Winter Haven, FL. Spero was born December 25, 1919 in Manchester, NH the son of Arthur and Helen (Roumeliates) Phillips. He was the widower of Sophie Lubnewski Phillips. Spero was a U.S. Army Veteran during World War II and a retired carpenter for Scandinavian Airlines. He is survived by his son, Robert Phillips of Hopewell Junction, NY; daughter, Janet Prendergast and husband Bill of Winter Haven, FL; daughter-in-law, Barbara Phillips of Campbell Hall; brother, John Phillips of Astoria, NY; sisters, Rosalie of Rochester, NY and Louise of Mission Viejo, CA; 6 grandchildren, Jason, Krystle and Candice Prendergast, Alyssa Pleasant and husband Justin, Jaime Nywening and husband Paul and Rob Phillips; great granddaughter, Jade Pleasant and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home Inc., 82 South Church St., Goshen, NY A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 1:30 pm at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, Goshen Tpke in Middletown. Interment will follow in Hamptonburgh Cemetery in Campbell Hall, NY. Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Goshen.
