Obituary of Myrna T. Tucker

Myrna T. Tucker, 86, of Goshen, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY.
Myrna was born January 9, 1929 in Paterson, NJ, the daughter of Carl and Helen (Buder) Tomys.
She graduated with a BS in Religious Education from Beaver College, now called Acadia University. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was recently honored by the Presbyterian Women's Association for her service to others. She was a Girl Scout Leader and Youth Group Advisor in her younger years and more recently volunteered in the Red Door Thrift Shop and the Food Pantry. She worked at the local pharmacies in Goshen. She was also on a bowling league.
Myrna received joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She attended as many of their sporting events, concerts and school events as possible. She played piano and appreciated many genres of music. She passed her applesauce, apple cake, breakfast casserole and pea soup recipes on through the grandchildren. Nana's French Onion soup was featured as a nightly special at Pacifica Restaurant in Virginia Beach. She loved the sights, sounds and smells of Long Beach Island and passed that on to her children and grandchildren as well.
She had a special love for birds, gardening, and attending the Goshen High School musicals, The Great American Weekend activities, and socializing with her many Goshen women friends.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gene Tucker of Goshen; children, Ginny Julian and husband Kevin of Virginia, Dan Tucker and fiancé Lori Stehlin of N. Carolina, Cindy Tucker of Goshen, Patty Barron and husband Jeff of Virginia, Kathy Mottle and husband Alan of Pennsylvania and Tim Tucker and wife Sue of the Hamlet of Wallkill; 17 grandchildren, Amara, Becky, Stacia, Vicky, Cindy, K.J. and Alex Julian, Kate and Jessica Tucker, Chris Tucker, Melissa, Megan, and Sean Barrron, Kristin and Kaitlin Mottle, Trent and Dillon Tucker; 8 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; and three nieces and a nephew. Myrna will be missed by her dog Buddy, who exhibited by his weight, received many treats daily!
She was predeceased by her son, Christopher Kent Tucker and two sisters, Nita Merritt and Helen Kenyon.
The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the First Presbyterian, 33 Park Pl., Goshen, NY with the Reverend David Kingsley officiating.
Interment will be in the Memorial Columbarium on the Church grounds immediately following the Service along with a Celebration of Life Gathering in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, Myrna would like donations to either ORMC Foundation (in memo note pediatric medical equipment) 707 E. Main St., Middletown, NY 10940 or Mercy Ships, (in memo Plastic Surgery Program) P.O. Box 1930, Lindale, TX 75771 (where her granddaughter Stacia volunteers as a nurse.)
