Please share a memory of Marie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Marie Louise Buchheit Ward, 89, of Port Jervis entered into rest on Monday, September 11, 2023.

Marie Louise was born April 3, 1934 in Ergersheim (Alsace) France, the daughter of the late Joseph and Alphonsine (Weiskopf) Ernwein. She was predeceased by her first husband, Leon Buchheit in 1992 and her second husband, M.G. William F. Ward in 2018.

Her adventurous spirit caused her to immigrate to the United States on her own at age 17. She finished high school in New York and then completed her studies at Katherine Gibbs. She was very proud of her Alsatian heritage.

She was a remarkable woman with diverse interests and lots of spunk, a smart businesswoman, elegant, loving, compassionate, and expressed herself in a slight French accent with no filters.

She was most proud of her surviving children Marc & Danielle Buchheit.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 14 from 4-7 pm at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.
