Obituary of Martha Roslon Anderson

Martha Roslon Anderson passed away on April 1, 2014; she was 94 years old. Mrs. Anderson was the widow of Thomas H. Anderson and the daughter of Anton and Leocadia Pawlak Roslon. She was a lifetime resident of Goshen and a member of St. John's parish. Mrs. Anderson was predeceased by her sisters: Jennie Griffen, Florentina Shanley, Gladys Olmsted and Teresa Robinson. Martha graduated from the School of Nursing at St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh, NY. She worked as a registered nurse for 40 years at Goshen Hospital. She was an active member and elected officer of the New York State Nurses Association, District 18. She and her sisters, also in the profession, promoted the implementation of key policies through District 18. These policies included advanced standards of patient care, strengthened requirements for nursing education, and improved economic benefits for nurses. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her four children, Martha Ann Carter, twin sons, James and Thomas Anderson and Leila Reukauf. Mrs. Anderson is also survived by her five grandchildren and her six great grandchildren.
