CORNELIUS E "BUD" HUBNER 1924-2014 Cornelius E. "Bud" Hubner went to his eternal life on Monday, May 5th 2014 at the age of eighty nine. He was the son of Elizabeth Shippee Hubner and Cornelius A. Hubner of Kinnelon,N.J. A WWII veteran in the Medical Corp, he served in Dutch New Guinea and the invasion of Leyte in the Philippines. In 1950 he graduated Georgetown School of Foreign Service and in 1953 he married the love of his life Winifred Ruth Senger of Ridgewood, N.J. The marriage has been blessed with nine children, 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Employed in the Felt business, he became Vice-President of Central/Allied of Bloomingdale, N.J., was elected President of the National Felt Association, and served as President and major shareholder of the American Felt and Filter Co. of New Windsor, N.Y. While living in New Jersey, Bud's civic activities included School Board President in Kinnelon, and Diocesan Catholic School Board of Paterson. In Goshen, Bud was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic War Veterans, The VFW and the American Legion. He was a member of the Marian Movement of Priests and a longtime Lector at St. John the Evangelist Church. Nationally, he was Chairman of the United States Business and Industry Council in Washington, D.C. where for 20 years he fought an uphill battle to keep manufacturing jobs in America. Bud delighted in family time and travel trailering around the country, especially the six week trip to California and vacations at the Jersey shore which meant keeping in touch with cousins. He and Winnie shared a love and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary which led them to travel the world to visit her shrines. Bud is survived by his beloved sweetheart, Winnie Ruth and their nine children, C. Eric Jr. of Parsippany, N.J., Jennifer and Paul Wasek of Flanders, N.J., Winnie Foster of Goshen, Suzanne and Glenn Arnowitz of Warwick, N.Y., Lisa and Charles Furciniti of Bedford, N.H., Amy Hubner of Williamstown, Mass., Lynne and Paul Hubner of Mc Kinney, T.X., Francesca Polli of Franklin Lakes, N.J., and Peter Hubner of Goshen, as well as his 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Donald A. Hubner of Pompton Plains, N.J. and was pre-deceased by his sister Cynthia Ix of Smoke Rise, N.J. True to the way he lived his life, with gratitude to the Lord in everything, his final words were "thank you." We thank God for him! Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church St., Goshen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 12:30 pm at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Avenue, Goshen, NY. Burial will follow at Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Craigville Road, Goshen, NY . Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., Goshen.
