John P. Higgins Goshen, New York John P. Higgins, 88, of Goshen, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. Born December 31, 1926 in Harrison, NJ, the son of Gerard and Sarah (MacArdle) Higgins. John served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from IBM in Sterling Forest, NY as a System Analyst, and he was a huge Giants fan. John is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Higgins at home; sons, John G. Higgins and wife Kerri of Monroe, NY and Gerard T. Higgins of Stockholm, NJ; daughter, Eileen M. Baer and husband Gerry of Bloomingburg, NY; 7 grandchildren, Danielle, Erin, John, Katelyn, Ryan, Colleen and Maggie; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Gerard and Sarah and brothers, Christie, Gerard and Philip. Visitation will be Friday, March 27 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wallkill Cemetery, Middletown, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550. Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., Goshen.
