Kenneth Ward, Jr., 57, of Slate Hill, died with his family around him on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. Kenneth was born September 17, 1957 in Middletown, NY, the son of Kenneth L. Ward, Sr. and Caryl J. (Thorpe) Ward. Ken was an avid hunter and Harley Motorcycle rider; a former member of the Minisink Hook and Ladder, Goshen; former owner of Nonna Lucia's Restaurant; he worked for Danielle Cheese for 21 years and recently for Dave's Landscaping, Goshen, NY. Ken was a hard worker who fought a courageous battle with cancer. He was a jokester and loved his Budweiser. Ken was a loving person and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We all loved him. He is survived by his wife: Lucia (Lucy) Ward at home; mother Caryl (Thorpe) Ward of Goshen; daughter, Gabriella Ward; son Kenneth Ward III both at home; sister, Nancy Lane and husband Thomas of Goshen; brother, Steve Ward and wife Sylvia of Stewart, FL; and several nieces and nephews; he was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Ward, Sr. and brother, Thomas Ward. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 149 Cottage St., Middletown, NY. Burial will follow in Wallkill Cemetery, Middletown, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ward family, 231 South Centerville Road, Middletown, NY 10940 Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., Goshen.
