Bynum and raised their four children in Goshen, NY since 1956. She is survived by her son, Jan Bynum(Debbie),of Poughkeepsie, NY; daughters Brenda Kujawski (Andy) of Port Charlotte, Fla; Wendy Bynum-Wade (Douglas) of Goshen; and Karyn Maier (Andreus) of Saugerties. She is also survived by sister-in-law IvaLee Rutherford of North Carolina, Marie Bynum of Tulsa, Oklahoma and many nieces, nephews and their children. She was predeceased by her parents and husband, Charles. Upon arriving in Goshen, Winnie became active in the women's association of the Goshen United Methodist Church, working on craft fairs, quilting and various fundraisers. She was actively involved in the VFW Post #1708 and American Legion Post #377's women auxiliaries. She attended many Elks Club functions in Middletown with Charley as well as many square dance clubs throughout the area. In the 1970's Winnie had a daycare center at home and she worked for a short time in real estate. In the 1980's she ran a small shop selling square dance apparel, shoes and accessories. She was an avid card player, participating and starting games at the Goshen Senior Center, Mulberry House in Middletown and Twin Towers Senior Center in Middletown. Her greatest love was just enjoying being around other people. She was quick to laugh and loved making others laugh. She loved to dance, even when mobility became an issue, she would still enjoy a good "toe-tapper" from wherever she was sitting. She also loved to travel and created many wonderful memories with Charley roaming the countryside in their motorhome and summering at Lake George RV Resort. Visitation will be at the Donovan Funeral Home, South Church St., Goshen on Saturday, August 8th from 11am-12:30pm. Since Winnie was not up to having a visitation at the time of Charley Bynum's death, their children are looking upon Saturday's visitation as being for both Winnie and Charley Bynum. A memorial service, officiated by the Reverend David C. Kingsley, will be held in their honor at First Presbyterian Church in Goshen, at 1:00pm. Arrangements are being handled by Donovan Funeral Home, Goshen, NY. To leave the family a personal condolence, please visit www.donovanfunerals.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Winnie's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, your local veterans groups, First Presbyterian Church in Goshen, or a charity of your own choosing.
