ALEXANDER "ALEX" J. RUTKOWSKI February 13, 1932 - September 3, 2015 Campbell Hall, NY Alexander "Alex" J. Rutkowski, 83 of Campbell Hall passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. The son of the late John and Ann (Sadlowski) Rutkowski, Alex was born February 13, 1932 in Goshen, NY. He retired from the Town of Hamptonburgh as the Town Highway Superintendant, working from January 1966 to July 1987. He also worked at NY Bituminous for over ten years and Dr. Pasqual for another ten years. Alex was owner and operator of AJR Exavation. Alex was a Member of St. Joseph's Rosary Society in Florida; Elks Club 1097, Middletown, Otterkill Engine in Campbell Hall; an Usher for 55 years at St. John's Church, Goshen. Alex will be remembered for his love of bowling, fishing and his love of family. Alex and Cecilia would have been married 60 years on September 10th. He is survived by his his wife, Cecelia R. Rutkowski at home; his children: Dorothy Callahan and her husband, Tom of Olney, MD, Richard Rutkowski of Campbell Hall, Monica Rossi and her husband, Dr. Franco Rossi of Bullville, NY; brothers and sisters: Raymond Rutkowski and wife, Gertrude, Martha Krzyzczuk, Vincent Rutkowski and his wife, Kay, Gladys Rice, and Josie Lasapanaro; grandchildren: Thomas "TJ" Callahan and his wife, Katie, Michele Callahan M.D. and her fiance, Dan Greehalgh, Alexa Koppenal, Sarah Russell, Jennifer Russell and her fiance, Mike; two great grandchildren: Thomas "TJ" Callahan and Mason Callahan; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Michael J. Rutkowski and brother, John "Eddie" Rutkowski. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 7th at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. An Elk's Service will be at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 8th at St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave., Goshen, NY. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Goshen. Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson's Association or St Johns Church, 71 Murray Avenue Goshen NY 10924. He is survived by his wife, Cecelia R. Rutkowski at home; children, Dorothy Callahan and Thomas of Olney, MD, Richard Rutkowski of Campbell Hall, and Monica Rossi and husband Dr. Franco of Bullville, NY; siblings, Raymond Rutkowski and wife Gertrude, Martha Krzyzczuk, Vincent Rutkowski and wife Kay, Gladys Rice, and Josie Lasapanaro; grandchildren, Thomas "TJ' Callahan II, Dr. Michele Callahan, Alexa Koppenal, Sarah Russell and Jennifer Russell; 2 great grand children, Thomas "TJ" Callahan III and Mason Callahan; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Michael J. Rutkowski and brother, John "Eddie" Rutkowski. The family would like to thank the entire staff on 4 South ORMC.
