Obituary
Obituary of Rena Effie Copney
Please share a memory of Rena to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rená was born on December 22, 1957 to Ms. Magalene Wilkins and Mr. Franklin Moore at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY on a Sunday Morning.
Rená attended primary schools and South Shore High School in Brooklyn, NY. Rená met and married Mr. Bruce Edward Copney Sr. and have two beautiful children, Bruce Edward Copney Jr. and Asiah Nicole Copney-Vaughan.
Rená moved on to become a nurse's aide with the Allen School of Nursing in Brooklyn. Afterwards, Rená also became a contractor with the High Rise Construction Corp. in Virginia Beach, VA.
Rená made a home for herself in Orange County, NY. Rená was fun loving and always excited to be around family and friends. Rená was a great chef and cooking was her passion. She was always the life of the party and she enjoyed life to the fullest. Let's not forget Rená was a no non-sense type of woman.
Rená was a very classy lady that exuded elegance in her own right. She commanded the room when she walked in and she was beyond intelligent in many areas and aspects of life.
Rená loved her family and she truly loved her grandchildren in which she wanted to be called "GrandMama" and so they did. Some of Rená's favorite quotes were: "Yeah Right", "Gimme Kisses" and "Who are you calling a She?" Rená despised being called her or she.
Rená has her mother, Ms. Magalene Wilkins, her father, Mr. Franklin Moore, husband Bruce E. Copney, Sr.; 2 children, Bruce Jr. and Asiah, 1 son in law, Cavin Vaughan Sr., 3 grandchildren, Cavin Anthony Vaughan Jr., Cistern Ashley Vaughan and Daisy Mae Copney, 2 brothers, Michael Wilkins (deceased) and Terryl Wilkins, 3 sisters, Tameka Wilkins, Ina LightFoot (deceased) and Michelle Johnson, a host of sister and brother in laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, a God Daughter, nieces and nephews (and one special nephew, Christian Daryus Jenkins, that Rená has never met).
Let's remember Rena for the beautiful woman she was and the life that she lived. Rená wanted everyone to be together and have the biggest celebration for her life. We love you Rená, live on in Paradise!
