It is with extreme sadness that I just learned today of "Bernie the Attorneys" passing! I learned through the Connor CPA firm, while picking up my taxes. Bernie was a good man and a fun guy to be with, not only as my attorney, but in the many times we spent together. Whether at the Arden Place block parties, Kenney functions or various get togethers over the years. We constantly razzed each other about everything, but always in good taste and friendship. The last time I saw him was at his Godson's, Tom Kennedys funeral at West Point and although it had been awhile, we picked right up discussing the old days and how good it was to see each other again. I want to express my condolences to Lorraine and his children and grandchildren and to let them know that the world is a lesser place with his passing. May he Rest In Peace !

So very saddened to learn of Bernies passing. Having moved from the area, and not purchasing the Times Herald Record, I just learned of this. My sincere condolences to his soulmate Lorraine, and to his three fine sons. Bernie was my lawyer, friend and he always brought us donuts to the T.O.W. Court Office. May he R.I.P.

We were very sorry to learn of Bernie's passing. Our paths crossed many times during our time with Orang County. He was a fair man, always striving to do the best for his client, and yes, always with a sense of humor. He will be missed both professionally and personally by all who knew him.
May your fondest memories bring you comfort at this difficult time.
Our deepest sympathy to his entire family.
Sincerely,

To the Brady Family:
Bernie was an inspiration to me and to so many others, as an attorney, and as a human being. Always a twinkle in his eye, a kind word and a smile regardless of what was going on in his life, He brought out the best in others because he offered the best of himself. I used to talk to him about some of the hard cases he'd had over the years. As a young lawyer I once asked him if it was hard for him to represent persons that he knew were guilty. He looked at me and said, "as my own boss once said to me when I was a young pup, representing those you know to be guilty is not the worst.. it is representing those you believe are innocent, that is actually the hardest." His wisdom and kindness and his huge heart will be remembered always. I am deeply sorry for your loss and pray that you find some comfort in the knowledge that he was loved and deeply respected by so many.

To all the members of the Brady family, and all the members of the Brady Law family,
I just learned of Bernie's passing, and am shocked and grieved beyond expression. Mike and I send you our most heartfelt condolences. Bernie has been our staunch advocate, champion, and also friend, and his loss is an enormous hole in our hearts.
There are simply not words enough to tell the world what a wonderful man he was. He embodied qualities that are increasingly rare in the world, and even more commonly are taken for granted. He had unshakable integrity; he was utterly and thoroughly honorable, generous, kind, and decent. He was also as funny as he was incisive, in both analysis and just in conversation. To speak with him was a pleasure, and to know he was your advocate was knowing that you had reached a safe harbor. He had the unique gift of cutting through the palaver and laying out the core, often uncomfortable truths, but always did so in a way that empowered you to find your way through. How rare that is--and how inspiring.
On Bernie's desk there was a small plaque with a quote (which I later found out) was from Thomas Paine: "Reputation is what men think of us; character is what God and the angels know of us". That small sentence reaffirmed my faith that Bernie was surely on the side of the angels. It is a piece of wisdom which I carry to this day, and for which I continue to thank him.
Bernie spoke often, with great pleasure and pride, of his family. May the love he had for you sustain you through this difficult time, and may all our memories bring you comfort in the days ahead.
The Irish kept their history and identity alive through millennia of adversity by remembering and telling their children those memories of the people and traditions they held most dear. In that tradition, while we remain earthbound, Bernie lives for us as long as we remember him. It is the closest we get to a true miracle in this life, and we wish you all that loving, comforting miracle.
God bless all of you,
Mary Anne Thiesing, and Mike Eigo

To the entire Brady Family I offer my deepest condolences.
I first came to know Bernie more than 27 years ago when I became and Assitant District Attorney for Orange County. Bernie and I had numerous cases together and tried a number of cases against one another during that time . Although trials are adverserial, our relationship was anything but adverserial. Bernie was always a gentleman in and out of the courtroom and he was always gracious in both victory and defeat .
He had a genuine care for all of clients and a true respect and love of the law.
Upon my entering private practice he welcomed me to the criminal defense bar openly and always graciously offering his guidance and his abundance of wisdom .
I will always treasure the memories of the cases that we co defended together and will forever be thankful and humbled in his having had the confidence to have referred me certain cases that he was unable to handle over the years .
I know that I'm a better lawyer and more importantly a better person for having known him and to have considered him a friend.
My hope to his family is that in time, the sadness that you feel today will be diminished by warm and rich memories of Bernie and in knowing that He is a shining example of the goodness in man.
May God hold him in the palm of his hands.
Deepest condolences,
John Ingrassia
