James "Jay" Scales, 74, of Goshen, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Valley View Center in Goshen, NY.
Mr. Scales was born February 11, 1942 in Pinehurst, NC. He is the son of Lillian (Monroe) Scales.
He retired from Weinert Recycling, Middletown, NY as a Foreman.
He is survived by his wife, Theodora "Donni" Scales at home; daughters, Jennifer Scales of Middletown; son Jonathan "Wesley" Burley and wife Trina of Warwick; step daughter, Shelly DeWitt of Goshen; stepsons, Brian and Matthew DeWitt of California; brothers, Robert and Ronald Scales both of North Carolina; sisters, Jackie McSwain and Patricia Perry both of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; one great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Ruth Jane Monroe McGregor, mother Lillian, sister, Brenda Hill and brother, William Scales.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 13 from 11 to 1 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY with the funeral at 1:00 pm in the funeral home.
Internment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made in James' to the National Parkinson's Disease, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
