Dominick Joseph Staiti, 92, of Pine Bush, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Schervier Pavilion, Warwick, NY. Dominick was born July 30, 1924 in Newport, RI, the son of Laxerio and Carmela Staiti. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII (Patton's Army) was on Omaha Beach on D-Day. He retired from the NYC Parks Department – Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx. He is survived by his daughter, Lorraine Staiti Zoppie, and her son, Matthew DeGennaro, Dominick's beloved grandson. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Bill Zoppie and Mikel, Matt, Brittany, and Fallon Zoppie, beloved grandchildren; as well as his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Clara Staiti, his parents, and sisters, Phyllis Napoli and Gloria Favale. The family would like to thank Schervier Pavillion for the excellent and compassionate care they gave to Dominick. Visitation will be Friday, June 9 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Graveside Service with Military Honors and burial of cremains will be held 2:15 pm on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 111 Craigville Rd., Goshen, NY.
