Dolores and family,
I am so so sorry to learn of Dick's passing. He was a wonderful "boy" in school. I remember him well; his smile, always had one. He accomplished many things during his life and will be remembered for doing so. God bless you and your family during this time. I'm sorry to send this now but it was not known to me earlier. Dear Dolores and Family - So very sorry for your loss - while my heart is heavy and my eyes have moisture, my smile is big and the chuckles are spontaneous as I remember my friend Dick Roberts - knowledgable, suave, charming, cantankerous, annoying, lovable s.o.b. - I'm so happy to have been a part of his life and so happy he and you, Dolores, being a part of mine - "you want me to fill out a purchase order for pre-approval? Why when I can just make a phone call..." Sending love, hugs, and deepest sympathies

I send my deepest sympathy to the entire Roberts Family. Always remember the wonderful times that you spent with Richard. Please find comfort in what the Bible says about the opportunity of seeing Richard again under the very best of conditions right here on the earth: “He will swallow up death forever.” (Isaiah 25:8)

I'm saddened to hear of Mr. Roberts' passing . I will forever remember his smile and sarcasm . We first met when I was a 12 year old smart a** Little Leaguer . He first notice I was wearing a Cheryl Tiggs t-shirt to practice, a fact that he ALWAYS brought to my attention years and years later when ever we ran across each other . It was as my manager where he made an impression on me that would last a lifetime. I can remember hitting a big home run in a game that decided our championship . A few hours after the game I received a phone call from none other than Mr. Roberts . He took the time to not only congratulate me , but to tell me how proud of me he was . You see he had worked all of us extra hard in practice that week , knowing what a daunting task we had ahead of us . For years after our families were close and Id see him quite often . As years went on we all seemed to drift apart, but I NEVER forgot Mr. Roberts or the impact he made on me. Rest in Peace Mr. Roberts and thank you so very much .

Dear Delores and Family,
Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Having the opportunity to know Dick and work under his direction for many years, I always looked forward to our morning meetings and starting our day off with some light hearted laughter. It always made for a pleasant day ahead. I have many fond memories and deep appreciation for his willingness to assist during difficult times. His door was always open and he always greeted you with a smile. As a supervisor, he earn the respect of others, but as a friend it came naturally. Our sincere condolences go out to you all. May you find comfort in the love of your family and the hope we have in our creator…

So very sorry to hear the sad news. I worked with Dick at Valley Central and enjoyed the projects we worked on together. As the Director of Technology I collaborated with him on a regular basis and relied on his skills. His positive attitude and ability to "get things done" was so greatly appreciated. When Dick said he would find a way to make something happen, it happened!
It is unfortunate that the "Good ones" are always taken from us too soon.
I will truly miss him.

Oh Dick, I will always remember you as the Best Boss! Even though we butt heads from time to time, you taught me so much and were always tough, but I knew if I needed anything, I could count on you! Working for you in B&G was the best job In the district. We all really loved coming to work because you made the department great and we were so proud to be a part of it! Thank you for being that boss and man. You will be missed
Blessings to you Dolores!

Delores and Family,
So sad to hear about Dick. Spoke to him the other day and was looking forward to bringing him some trout. He always told me he just wanted to make things better and that's exactly what he did at Valley Central. He was a golf partner, a great excuse to go trout fishing, a mentor, and most of all a great friend. I am truly a better person for having known him. He will truly be missed.

I worked with Dick at Monroe Woodbury school District, I met Dick a few days after he started with the district at a transportation Dept appreciation day picnic. I immediately knew he would be a tremendous asset to the district- in the years to follow Dick was a pleasure to work with, he had the tremendous respect of all the people who worked for him or came in contact with him on and off the job. He touched a lot of lives with mutual respect and fairness. He fought a long battle but kept doing what he loved to do. Prayers to his entire family, he will be missed!
