Just found out about the passing of Coach Bayno. He was like a second father to me during high school. I thought about him often and I had the chance to speak with him a few years ago on the phone and we had a great talk. However, I never got the chance to say thank you for all he did for me, so "Thank You".
I'll always cherish our relationship.
You were the best.

Coach was kind and taught me and my friend Wendy how to do the stats for the Varsity baseball team for two years. I learned to love baseball and enjoy watching the game as he taught me the strategy behind each play. My sincere sympathy to his family. You may never know how far reaching his influence went.
Oh and while serving in the AF in Iraq, bragged about what a great coach he was to General Petraeus as he played baseball for Cornwall.
Sincere,
Renata Tramontano Sierzega

Coach Bayno was a friend of my fathers while at Valley Central and was very helpful to my mom and my brothers when my dad passed away. He was an awesome coach and an even better human being. I am truly sorry for his passing and wish peace to his family and friends. RIP Coach!

I never had the pleasure of meeting Coach Bayno, but I felt his presence just hours after his funeral on the sidewalk outside our school(C.H.A.H./ M346) on 158st in Washington Heights. His son Billy was with teammate and fellow Sacred Heart National Champion and All American Roger Younger. They had arrived to pick up Roger's children.
What ensued was a 30 minute impromptu clinic on basketball and life. On this most difficult day, Billy could not have been more gracious. He spoke to the kids about hard work and of loving your teammates. He implored them to honor their families by doing well in school. He shook everyone's hand and we took a group photo. Our kids were beyond amazed that they were speaking with an NBA coach in their own neighborhood. The teams are still buzzing from that visit.
It was an incredible act of kindness that we will never forget. Thank you so much, Billy.
God Bless Coach Bayno and his family.

Condolences to the family. Since his son Billy played baseball with and against my brothers, I remember him well from hours spent on the baseball fields. I am sure he and my father are sharing baseball stories today.

Condolences from our family. It has been many years since I spent time with Coach Bayno, however, the fond memories are vivid. He was a mans man who I admired and always joy to be around. It seemed like he was always present in part of our team life, felt his support for his Son and Daughters, enjoyed his sports stories-especially baseball, his coaching experiences, having dinner with him and visiting goshen. He obviously raised terrific people in Bill, Julie, Katie and Mary who treated me like family. God Bless him. Keith Whitt

Joe we will miss looking for you walking into town and picking you up along the way either home or for lunch. Ad hoc meetings for lunch were quite a treat.
Also the planned lunches with you Chris Ashman and I.
I think I’ll still find myself looking for you along the way.

I sincerely enjoyed knowing Coach. He was a straight-ahead guy who believed hard work paid dividends; and that the opposite was true. We could use more Coach Baynos around.
My condolences to Bill and the rest of the family.
