Obituary of James S. Sicina

JAMES S. SICINA MIDDLETOWN, NEW YORK James S. Sicina, 68, of Middletown, NY died peacefully at home on Monday, November 9, 2009. The son of Stanley Sicina and Sophie Koslowski Sicina, Jim was born January 5, 1941 in Florida, NY. Jim retired from N.Y.S. DOT in Middletown, NY as Highway Supervisor. He was an Army Veteran, a member of the Shawangunk Fish and Game Association, former charter member of Shoot-A-Buck Hunting Club, member of the Elks Club in Middletown, member of the NRA, American Legion Post 1250 and VFW Post 3175. Jim loved gardening and was well known for his pickled beets which he loved to share with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and tying his own flys. He is survived by his wife Gail Sicina at home; sons, James D. Sicina of Goshen, and Edward S. Sicina and wife Sherri of Lafayette, NJ; daughter-in-law, Laure Lee of Port Jervis; sister, Dolly Rysinger and husband Robert of Middletown; grandchildren, David, Michael and Christopher Sicina and Joseph Blackburn; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Geraldine Jensen. Visitation will be Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Friday, November 13 at Holy Cross RC Church, South Centerville, NY. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Florida, NY. Memorial donations may be made in Jim's name to Slate Hill Volunteer Fire Dept., Rt. 284, Slate Hill, NY 10973 or Holy Cross R.C. Church, 626 Rt. 22, Middletown, NY 10940.
