I've known Dorothy for almost 20 years, first as a client, but as I got to know her better, she became a friend as well, with whom I enjoyed frequent conversations on all topics. A positive, vibrant, upbeat, inquisitive and open person always. I will miss her being very much, and I pray for her repose.

I have put off writing because anything that I came up with to share seemed not to do justice to the vibrant, caring and generous person Dorothy was. I look at the plant she gave me many years ago and I am in tears. I am so sad that she will not be able to come visit us in Washington for vacation as we had planned during her retirement. Whatever I say seems inadequate.

You will always be Mrs. Szarowski to me. I knew you for more than 20 years. You nourished my passion and talent for art more than any other. You even helped me chose my college.
On days that you would bring your babies in to school at dismissal i remember thinking how lucky they were to have such a sweet and nurturing mom.
I am grateful to have known you. Thank you for everything you have given me. I still make art every day and you are one of the ones who helped shape that part of me. I will miss your sweet soul.
My thoughts are with your family and hope that they find comfort in the memories of your friends.

I first met Dorothy in 6th grade. She was always my best friend although we didn't speak as often. When we were kids we were saving all of our change to buy a horse ranch. Obviously that never happened. Dorothy always wanted to go on adventures. She will always be In my heart. My condolences go out to the family

As a regular Goshen library user, I had met Dorothy about 3 years ago at the old Goshen Public Library building. She was always very helpful and understanding during my library visits and was always willing to assist my siblings and I with our library needs. My thoughts and prayers are with the Szarowski Family during their loss.

I met Dorothy through our daughters friendship. She stood out as a special person from our first meeting. We shared a love of art and gardening. Dorothy had a wonderful attitude towards living, even with the hardships she endured. She will be sorely missed by me. Rest in peace, Dorothy. Vickie, Charlie and Laurel Adams
