Learning of Jo’s passing is such a shock, and I am so sorry for your loss and heartache. I live in Columbia, NC and looked forward to connecting on her next trip down. I enjoyed Jo’s friendship and laughter, and she was an excellent assistant to the Board of Commissioners and the Administrator when she was employed by Tyrrell County. May all who love her find peace in knowing she enjoyed life, family and friends, and her life added to each of our lives!

Our hearts are shattered. We have so many memories of Jo that it would take forever to share. She was the truest of friends and had a heart that was so big that she could share it with eveyone she knew. Her smile and laugh will live in our hearts forever. We can only offer prayers to find peace to her family, who she loved dearly. Her memory will always be a blessing to all who knew her and the world will not be the same without our friend.

Aunt Jo was never, not smiling. I still do not believe she is gone, and I don't want to. There were so many plans, so much to look forward to. I don't know why and no one ever will. We simply need to be with our friends and family and never take a moment for granted. I saw her 16 hours before and never did I think that would be the last time I hugged her. There will not be a day that goes by that I do not think of her and her smile.
