Obituary of Herbert Carl Mueller

Herbert Carl Mueller, DVM, 93, of Walden, NY entered into rest on Friday, March 26, 2021 at home.

Herbert was born April 13, 1927 in Montgomery, NY, the son of Walter and Margarethe Mueller.

Herbert was a lifelong resident of the area; he graduated from Maybrook High School in June of 1944. He served in the US Army 11th Airborne Division in the Occupation of Japan during 1946-47. He entered Cornell University and graduated from Cornell Veterinary College in 1951. Herbert owned and operated Orange County Veterinary Hospital for a number of years; was a veterinarian for the Goshen Historic Track and also Monticello Raceway. Herbert loved all animals large and small. He was a Director of Goshen Saving Bank 1970; the second President of the Hudson Valley Veterinary Association; a Director of Black Meadow Club; and a member of the Masonic Temple and the Wolf Lake Community.

He is survived by his wife: Eileen Mueller; son, Richard Mueller (Anne Klein); daughter, Patricia Seaman (Stephen); granddaughters, Elizabeth Seaman and Victoria Fischer (Colin); and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Walter and Fritz Mueller and sister, Elizabeth LaVena.

Memorial Visitation will be Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. The Funeral Service to Celebrate his life will be held 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Hamptonburgh Cemetery, Campbell Hall, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550, Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) or a Humane Society of one's choice.
