Obituary of Giuseppe Benjamin Lasaponara

Giuseppe (Joe) Benjamin Lasaponara, son of Antonio and Lillian Masca Lasaponara, born in New York City on October 3, 1942, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 11, 2021. He attended Goshen Schools and was a 40 year member of the Cataract Engine and Hose Company in Goshen, New York, holding various positions, including Captain and President. He was an owner of Lasaponara Cheese Company, Danielle Cheese and J&J Foods. He is survived by his wife of 56+ years, Giuseppina, his children Dr. James Lasaponara, Toni Lynn Quilty and her husband Dennis, Danielle McDaniels and her husband Jesse, his grandchildren Kaitlyn Quilty, Dr. Brenden Quilty, Joseph Mc Daniels and Dillon McDaniels, sisters Marie Fazzino and Carmela Cosh and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Luigi Lasaponara and Antonio Lasaponara. Viewing will be at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen, New York on Monday, May 17 from 4 pm to 6 pm with a religious service at 5:30 pm at the Funeral Home. A firematic service will be held at 5:45 pm, conducted by the Cataract Engine and Hose Company In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Heart Association.
