Jason John Smykla, 37, of Goshen passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at home. He was born March 22, 1984 in Goshen, NY to Jim Smykla and Ann Jankowski. Jason had a phenomenal imagination when it came to sketching and drawing. He loved the Jets and Knicks almost as much as his family. His heart and soul was his daughter Raegan. He is survived by his daughter, Raegan Smykla; his mother Ann Kaleita and her husband Mike; his father Jim Smykla and his wife Jeanine; brother Jeremey and his wife Kresta, Nick and his wife Maggie, Mikey and fiancé DeLaney Myers, Chip and his wife Constance and Doug; nieces, Elexis, Kileigh, MacKinnon and Camrine and Shelby; nephews Krisjian and Nicholas, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents. Visitation will be Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 2 to 5 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, with the funeral service at 4:30pm. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made in Ann Kaleita's name to go into a college fund for Jason's daughter, Raegan Smykla.
