Obituary of James McVey
Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James Louis McVey of Chester, NY has gone on to meet the master fisherman in heaven. He entered into eternal rest in early July at the age of 37 still in search of landing "the big one" and hopefully landing it. He left this world too early and his loss is significantly felt by all who loved him.
James is survived by his parents Jim McVey and Cynthia (White) McVey, his sister Bevin, two nieces and two nephews. He is predeceased by his grandmothers Rose White and Margaret McVey.
James was born March 11, 1984, in Middletown, NY. He graduated from Wallkill High School in 2002.He was the Owner and Operator of JXB Medical Transport Company, Chester, NY.
James was an avid fisherman who enjoyed a day outside on the water more than anything else. Whether it was a sunny day on the lake, on the side of the river fishing for salmon upstate, or on the sound going for stripers, James was happiest with a fishing pole in his hands constantly waiting to land that big one. He was an animated storyteller who always greeted you with his smile and signature hat. His outgoing personality was always felt and loved by those around him. James appreciated sharing his unique experiences and stories with his friends and family bringing his own distinctive flavor, infectious laughter, and brand of humor to situations. He was a natural born salesman who could sell water to a well. He could easily liven up a room in most any situation and brought a laugh to all who were nearby. He was proud of being part of his family's tradition as the fourth generation of living on the family farm. He loved his family greatly, took great joy in gardening and passing on his fishing skills for all to enjoy. He will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends and all who knew him.
The funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family at Donovan's funeral home in Goshen, NY.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made in James's name to a local fishing club or kindly honor his memory by taking a day off to go fishing!
