Our mom, Buffy Mackie (nee Buffum) and Katie went to Briarcliff Junior College together. They became lifelong friends. Our families visited each other and, later on, the "girls" visited each other. We will always remember Katie's joie de vivre; always smiling, always seeing the positive. The world is the poorer without her smile and infectious laugh. Carolyn Mackie Appelbe and Joan Mackie

Although I did not know Katherine for very long, I have such fond memories of her as an enthusiastic supporter for her daughter's musical pursuits. I met her the first time when she came to the SUNY Orange Jazz Ensemble performance in 2019. My favorite memory of her is of her dancing with her son-in-law (Chris Tippin) as we played jazz in Caroline's living room. I will always remember her joie-de-vivre spirit. May her rest in peace and enjoy heavenly music.

Caroline,Katharine I am saddened to hear of the passing of your dear mother Katharine. I remember her fondly from visiting when picking up my sister Heather after baby-sitting and from her membership in The Fortnightly Club with my mother Esther. She sweetly invited me and all of my groomsmen to swim in your pool on the sweltering morning of my wedding in August of 1976. I remember her as gracious and elegant, a great neighbor in Fink's Basin. Sincerely, David Little
