Candido A. Vasquez, 84, of Montgomery entered into rest on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Sapphire Nursing & Rehab in Goshen, NY. Candido was born August 18, 1937 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, the son of Candido and Elia (Rosario) Vasquez. Candido, known to everyone as Candy, was a successful, hardworking owner of various catering/deli businesses in Manhattan, throughout his many working years He enjoyed watching baseball, classic movies, & listening to Frank Sinatra. He loved family gatherings, eating good food with his occasional martini. He relaxed by tinkering outdoors and playing with his cat, Tippi. He was survived by his grown children: Debra Ortiz, Maria Quinn & Lawrence Vasquez. His loving grandchildren: Tyler & Dylan Ortiz, Cameron Quinn, Anthony, Christina, Lorenzo & Luca Vasquez; and his former spouse, Josephine Vasquez. He was also survived by his loving partner, Rosa Canaveral & family: Raymond Jr., Sandra, Christopher & Adriana Valentin. He is survived by his sisters: Aida Alvarez & Sylvia Vasquez. Pre-deceased by his brothers Angelo and Raymond Vasquez. Visitation will be Friday, February 18 from 4 to 7 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. The Funeral Service to Celebrate his life will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
